Always wanted to try doing improv? Want to sharpen your existing improv skills? Think it would be fun to pretend you are talking whale?
Theatre 99's improv training program dedicates itself to giving ANYONE the opportunity to learn how to improvise. The class environment is supportive, non-competitive and focuses on group cooperation. Our teaching method does not require previous theatre experience.
Classes meet for 90 minutes, in the evenings for seven, consecutive weeks. Level 1 classes are taught by Theatre 99 company members. Upper level classes are taught by the co-artistic directors of Theatre 99: Brandy Sullivan or Greg Tavares. Every class performs an end-of-session recital on stage at Theatre 99 for invited family and friends. Participation in the recital is not required for advancement to the next level. After completion of Level 3, some students will be selected to audition for Theatre 99 company membership. Completion of the improv training program at Theatre 99 does not guarantee entrance into the Theatre 99 company.
