Improv: Good To The Last Drop

6 Class Meetings and 1 class recital. Cost is $165 (MUST PAY IN ADVANCE TO HOLD A SPOT)

Improv is all about choices. We consciously or unconsciously make these choices in every scene we’re in. This class will focus on strengthening these choices; squeezing the last drop out of every single one we make. Students will learn to identify opportunities in their scene work for more comedy, more information, and more characterizations using the choices that they’ve already made in the scene. Exercises will focus on hightening comedic opportunities without sacrificing deeper more connected scenes. You must have completed Level 2 or higher in the Theatre 99 training program to take this class.

Instructor: Andy Livengood

Andy Livengood wandered into an improv theatre to see a friend's show and became hooked for life. He is a graduate of the Theatre 99 training program and has studied at the Upright Citizen’s Brigade Theatre (NYC) and The Annoyance Theatre (Chicago). For over a decade, he has regularly performed at Theatre 99 in such groups as Cats Hugging Cats, Clutch, and Handys.  Andy has written for the sketch comedy groups Maximum Brain Squad and This is Chucktown. In 2011, his one man show, The Christmas will be Televised, was voted Best Play in Charleston.  Andy loves teaching improv as much as he loves performing it;  teaching sold out workshop and classes all over the southeast. Andy is a big nerd, so mention Batman to him and you’ll make a friend for life.
